POLICY |
The main policy goal
of the Children's Environmental Health Network is the
development of sound, child focused, prevention-oriented
public policy regarding environment and public health. To
that end, we work with other national organizations on
the issue, educate policy makers, develop materials, and
provide technical assistance and information.
The Children's Environmental Health Network :
- works to ensure that the proposed
federal policies to protect children are actualized
and implemented in a timely and effective
fashion.
- follows key legislation and policies that pertain
to children's environmental health, such as the Food
Quality Protection Act, the Clean
Air Act
and the
Kid's Safe Chemicals Act.
- brings sound science to discussions and debates,
and educates
and informs policy makers by bringing
scientific and child health experts to the fore.
- has developed a national Policy
Committee, comprised of key environmental,
health, and child organizations.
