California Environmental
Justice
Numerous leaders throughout California discussed issues
related to environmental justice. Typically, lower income
communities and communities of color are more likely to
live closer to factories, refineries, and other
toxin-producing facilities. Children in these communities
often have limited access to health care, live in poor
housing conditions, attend schools in disrepair, and play
in unsafe parks. The combination of these factors can
adversely affect children for their lifetime.
