Reports

Read about submissions to the Voluntary Children's Chemical Evaluation Program.

1. “Report of the Peer Consultation Meeting On Decabromodiphenyl Ether. April 2 and 3, 2003 University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio.”(PDF)
A panel of scientists with expertise in toxicity testing, risk assessment, exposure assessment, and children’s health met on April 2 and 3, 2003 to conduct a peer consultation of a submission on decabromodiphenyl ether (a.k.a. decabromodiphenyl oxide, DBDPO). The American Chemistry Council’s Brominated Flame Retardant Industry Panel (BFRIP) prepared the submission for the Voluntary Children's Chemical Evaluation Program (VCCEP). The purpose of the meeting was to provide a science-based forum to determine whether the existing data are adequate to characterize the risks of DBDPO to children, and, if not, to identify data needs.

2. “Report of the Peer Consultation Meeting on Acetone.” (PDF) Peer Consultation Organized by: Toxicology Excellence for Risk Assessment November 18, 2003, Cincinnati, Ohio.
A panel of scientists with expertise in toxicity testing, risk assessment, exposure assessment, and children’s health met on November 18, 2003, to conduct a peer consultation of a submission on acetone. The American Chemistry Council Acetone Panel prepared the submission for the Voluntary Children's Chemical Evaluation Program (VCCEP). The purpose of the meeting was to provide a science-based forum to discuss whether the existing data are adequate to characterize the risks of acetone to children, and, if not, to identify data needs.

3. “Report of the Peer Consultation Meeting on Methyl Ethyl Ketone.” (PDF) February 19, 2004, Cincinnati, Ohio.
A panel of scientists with expertise in toxicity testing, risk assessment, exposure assessment, and children’s health met on February 19, 2004, to conduct a peer consultation of a submission on methyl ethyl ketone (MEK). The American Chemistry Council Ketones Panel prepared the submission for the Voluntary Children's Chemical Evaluation Program (VCCEP). The purpose of the meeting was to provide a science-based forum to discuss whether the existing data are adequate to characterize the risks of MEK to children, and, if not, to identify data needs.

This is titled “APPENDIX A: List of Meeting Attendees.”

5. “Report of the Peer Consultation Meeting on Octabromodiphenyl Ether.” (PDF) June 4 and 5, 2003, University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio. A panel of scientists with expertise in toxicity testing, risk assessment, exposure assessment, and children’s health met on June 3 and 4, 2003, to conduct a peer consultation of a submission on octabromodiphenyl ether (octaBDE). The Great Lakes Chemical Company (GLCC) prepared the submission for the Voluntary Children's Chemical Evaluation Program (VCCEP). The purpose of the meeting was to provide a science-based forum to determine whether the existing data are adequate to characterize the risks of octaBDE to children, and, if not, to identify data needs.

6. “Report of the Peer Consultation Meeting on Pentabromodiphenyl Ether.” (PDF) June 3 and 4, 2003, University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio.
A panel of scientists with expertise in toxicity testing, risk assessment, exposure assessment, and children’s health met on June 3 and 4, 2003, to conduct a peer consultation of a submission on pentabromodiphenyl ether (pentaBDE). The Great Lakes Chemical Company (GLCC) prepared the submission for the Voluntary Children's Chemical Evaluation Program (VCCEP). The purpose of the meeting was to provide a science-based forum to determine whether the existing data are adequate to characterize the risks of pentaBDE to children, and, if not, to identify data needs.

7. “Report of the Peer Consultation Meeting on Vinylidene Chloride.” (PDF) January 29 and 30, 2003, University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio.
A panel of scientists with expertise in toxicity testing, risk assessment, exposure assessment, and children’s health met on January 29 and 30, 2003 to conduct a peer consultation of a submission on vinylidene chloride (VDC) prepared by The Dow Chemical Company for the Voluntary Children's Chemical Evaluation Program (VCCEP). The purpose of the peer consultation meeting was to provide a science-based forum to discuss the available exposure and toxicity data on VDC and determine whether there are adequate data to characterize the risks to children, or if more data or studies are needed. The panel used the assessment submitted by the company as well as their personal expertise and knowledge to form their personal opinions regarding data
needs.
