Mission Statement

  
The mission of the Ambulatory Pediatric Association (APA) is to foster the health and well-being of children and their families by: (1) promoting health services, education and research in general pediatrics; (2) affecting public and governmental policies regarding issues vital to child health and to education and research in general pediatrics; and (3) supporting the professional growth and development of faculty in general pediatrics.

  • Membership: 1,600 general pediatric health care providers and educators
  • Other organizational activities (not directed specifically toward children): lobbying, professional education, public education, research

    Children's Environmental Health Activities

    		  
    The APA has a Special Interest Group on children's environmental health which meets every year at the annual APA meeting. In 1996, the APA held a Ross Roundtable on Environmental Health.
