Mission Statement

The Coalition for Clean Air's mission is: to advocate policies and strategies that remedy air quality problems; to provide effective education and outreach programs to the community about the causes and health effects of air pollution and ways to help clean our air; and to advocate for responsible public health policy and to serve as a source of technical and educational expertise.
  • Geographic focus: California
  • Membership: 2,000 individuals
  • Other organizational activities (not directed specifically toward children): advocacy, education, organizing
  • Children's Environmental Health Activities

The Coalition for Clean Air has coordinated several educational programs for students of all ages. These programs always address the health impacts of air pollution and what students can do to reduce air pollution. The Coalition also regularly testifies at the local and state level to ensure that the mission to protect public health is not lost in the scramble to accommodate specific business interests. The testimonies address the effects of air pollution on children, seniors and the public at large.
