Mission Statement

The Environmental Health Foundation's mission is two-fold: (1) to fund scientific and/or medical research into the causes of environmentally linked disease. and (2) to educate the public about environmentally linked illness and how to prevent exposures through lifestyle changes.

  • Geographic focus: national
  • Membership: Membership
  • Other organizational activities (not directed specifically toward children): advocacy, environmental health education, grantmaking, lobbying, research

  • Children's Environmental Health Activities

The Environmental Health Foundation has funded research at major medical institutions. One study dealt with lead poisoning in children and predisposing factors. A current study is looking at children's asthma from an environmental viewpoint. The Environmental Health Foundation also has a program that sends speakers to schools to teach children about environmentally linked diseases and how to prevent them through simple, commonsense lifestyle changes.
