Hazardous Substances Data Bank (HSDB)

National Library of Medicine; partially supported by the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry

This is an invaluable resource for a broad spectrum of information on potentially hazardous chemicals. The database includes summarized information on more than 4,300 chemical substances. When available, information is included on chemical and physical properties, manufacturers, major uses, toxicity, exposure potential, environmental fate, safety and handling, etc. Reports are lengthy and technical, and complete references are provided for sources of data. The database is peer- reviewed by a Scientific Review Panel.
