Mission Statement

The mission of the National Association of School Nurses (NASN) is to advance the practice of school nursing and provide leadership in the delivery of quality health programs to school communities.

  • Geographic focus: national
  • Membership: 10,000 school nurses

  • Children's Environmental Health Activities

NASN provides continuing education programs both nationally and regionally to school health nurses around the country. Some of NASN's members are Environmental Health Officers in the schools. NASN works closely with the National Education Association and the American Lung Association on environmental issues. School nurses are very concerned about environmental triggers in the schools, especially for asthmatic students.
