Mission Statement

 
The mission of the North Carolina Department of Environment, Health and Natural Resources is to work on environmental protection and public health issues including childhood lead- poisoning prevention and child care sanitation.

    The Children's Environmental Health Branch works on a number of projects including: surveillance reports, support for local health department programs, lead poisoning and policy development, publications in scientific journals, investigations and enforcement of lead-poisoning abatement, childcare inspection and sanitation enforcement and evaluation of low-cost educational interventions for low-level lead exposure.
