Mission Statement

 
The National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) serves the legislators and staffs of the nation's 50 states and its commonwealths and territories. NCSL is a bipartisan organization with three objectives: to improve the quality and effectiveness of state legislatures; to foster interstate communications and cooperation; and to ensure states a strong cohesive voice in the federal system.

    The NCSL provides education and outreach to state legislatures and policy makers on environmental health issues. NCSL offers research, analysis and technical assistance to the 50 state legislatures.
