Mission Statement

National Environmental Trust (NET) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to educating the American public on contemporary environmental issues. Since it was founded in 1995 (as the Environmental Information Center), NET has worked to promote strong health, safety and environmental protection on issues including: food, air, and drinking water safety, global climate change, public right-to-know policies, and endangered species protection.

NET's public education campaigns combine research and analysis with effective grassroots organizing and media outreach to present the American people with accurate, up-to-date information on environmental issues and related public policy debates.

  • Geographic focus: national
  • Membership
  • Other organizational activities (not directed specifically toward children): environmental education, organizing, public education

  • Children's Environmental Health Activities

NET has promoted policies that support children's environmental health, including policies relating to safe drinking water, toxic exposure, right-to-know, endocrine disruptors and a variety of other public health and safety policies.

NET is continuing its major public education campaign on global warming and has mounted major new campaigns on clean air and forests. NET is continuing to monitor attacks on the environment in the name of regulatory "reform" and property "rights," or takings.
