Mission Statement

 
The Center for Environmental Health applies scientific, medical, engineering and public health expertise to identify, understand, prevent and mitigate risks to human health from New York's living and working environments.

    The Center for Environmental Health conducts public health oversight and environmental follow-up of lead-poisoned children; collects data from blood lead laboratory reports, and sets standards for requesting environmental lead-poisoning results. The Center also regulates children's camps, bathing beaches and swimming pools and inspects day care centers and schools.
