Mission Statement

 
The mission of the Oklahoma State Department of Health is to protect and promote the health of the citizens of Oklahoma and to prevent disease and injury, and to assure the conditions by which our citizens can be healthy.

    The Childhood Lead Poisoning Program maintains and disseminates data from statewide blood lead testing, coordinates county health department blood lead testing and provides guidance to health care providers and families. The Program provides follow-up care and assures that care continues until the child's blood lead level is reduced. The Program also collaborates with other agencies and local communities to coordinate public awareness and education efforts.
