Mission Statement

 
The mission of the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program is to make the citizens of the Commonwealth aware of the dangers of lead poisoning and to reduce the number of children who become lead-poisoned.

  • No membership
  • Other organizational activities (not directed specifically toward children): advocacy, education, regulation, research

  • Children's Environmental Health Activities

     
    The Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program:

    • funds 12 community-based childhood lead poisoning prevention programs that serve targeted identified high-risk areas

    • develops policy for delivery of childhood lead poisoning prevention and control services in the Commonwealth

    • develops brochures and posters for education and outreach purposes

    • sponsors an annual statewide Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Conference

    • develops Model Hazard Reduction Guidelines.
