Mission Statement

 
The Department of Environmental Health conducts environmental and occupational safety and health education, research and outreach.

    The Department of Environmental Health offers a lead abatement training center and has several US Department of Housing and Urban Development- and US Environmental Protection Agency-funded lead poisoning research projects in progress. The Department can respond within one month to requests for training. The Great Lakes Regional Lead Training Center in Cincinnati offers open enrollment and contracts private short courses in lead inspection, lead risk assessment and lead abatement supervision.
