| West Harlem
Environmental
Action, Inc. (WE ACT) is a nonprofit organization working to improve
environmental quality and to secure environmental justice in
predominately
African-American and Latino communities. Since 1988, WE ACT has worked
with
citizen groups, youth, community residents, environmentalists, local,
state and
federal governments, and educational and medical institutions. Based in
northern
Manhattan, WE ACT advances its mission through research, public
education,
advocacy, mobilization, litigation, legislative affairs and sustainable
economic
